The book contains a number of motifs, scenes and characters characteristic of Trnka: figures of small craftsmen, children, youths on horseback, a number of animals and flowers presented with typical Trnka stylization, masterful draughtsmanship and characteristic colouring that we know from his most successful books.

It is rare for such a set of book illustrations to appear complete for the entire volume.
