bronze (original cast) height: 63 cm  signed on the plinth: "Stursa" numbered from below: P 404    Provenance: -       collection of Jindrich Waldes -       confiscated by the Gestapo in 1939-40, moved to the State Gallery in Prague -       deposited in the collections of the National Gallery in Prague, registered under No. P404 -       in 1996 returned by the National Gallery in Prague (the so-called Waldes restitution) to the heirs of the factory owner Jindrich Waldes -       on November 9, 1997 sold at the Meissner-Neumann auction (item no. 163) for the then record price of CZK 187,000 -       collection of the Hascoe family, important Czech art collectors from Connecticut (USA)   Consulted with Professor Jaromir Zemina, Dr Jiri Machalicky and Vladimir Lekes.    Confirmation of authenticity attached.
