Jacques Papi: Corsican Dreaming
June 6 - July 5, 2025
Expo 58 ART Exhibition Hall
Curators: Vladimir Lekes, Zdena Ruzickova
Adolf Loos Apartment and Gallery has prepared an exclusive exhibition of one of the most outstanding talents of the contemporary Corsican scene, Jacques Papi, in its Expo 58 ART exhibition hall from June 6, 2025. This is the second exhibition in ten years of Jacques Papi, whose abstract canvases have become very popular with the Czech public over the years.
The exhibition presented a selection of abstract canvases that do not deny the inspiration of the American artist Jackson Pollock. Jacques Papi is described as a follower of Jackson Pollock, which confirms his prominent position in the field of abstract art. With his contribution, Jacques Papi extends the ranks of drip paintings and shows that abstract art is still a hot topic.
Papi's work reflects the autonomy of creation and brings to the forefront the idea of impulsive and intuitive painting. He brings his own identity and originality to his works. Within Corsican abstraction, Papi is seen not only as a continuation of Pollock's style, but also as a visionary and key figure in the local art community who brings new values and perspectives to the art scene.
Jacques Papi is represented in important Czech and international collections. His work is of particular interest to collectors.
The exhibition was organized by Adolf Loos Apartment and Gallery
