The work was painted as an illustration for the satirical magazine L‘Assiette au Beurre, which was published in Paris and to which Frantisek Kupka contributed between 1901 and 1907, creating three separate issues – the albums Money (L’Argent in French), Religion, and Peace.

Confirmation of authenticity enclosed by Vladimir Lekes, main author of the Catalogue Raisonné of Oil Paintings by Frantisek Kupka (published in collaboration with Adolf Loos Apartment and Gallery, National Gallery in Prague, Austrian National Gallery Belvedere and the copyright holder of the painter by the French state company by Adagp Paris), registered in the Guide International des experts et spécialistes, published in France.
